She's alive

I crumbled, I admit. A few blog posts with no feedback and I found myself throwing it all down the pan. Surely I'm stronger than that? It was not till now that I realised this blog was not entirely for others but it was more to exercise my passion. Henceforth, I'M BACK - only this time I'm going to accept this diary of a blog.

So what has changed? Definitely more than I would have envisaged back then (I'm talking as though I'm now 81 with a serious case of nostalgia). No, I've moved schools to join a brilliant sixth form where I met my boyfriend and you can guess all the rest.

Since I'm at that vital university decision stage (the one which makes feel like I'm being forced to mature) I have settled on a career path which is oh-so-related to this blog of mine. English Language is probably the most suited course for me. Journalism would perhaps be the ultimate job of my dreams. Therefore, I aim to pull out every stop in order to broaden my chances of even smelling that journalists' dream.

Blah blah blah, get on with the good stuff...

Well, I do have a few ideas circling around my head right now for blogposts so I shall get my head down and crack on with it!

Curly Care

 Calling all curly heads!!!!
I have discovered something amazing for our locks and I'm not afraid to share it!

       (Awkward, awkward, awkward...)
Short anecdote: I have recently developed really curly hair, don't ask me where it's come from because I really do not have a clue! But yeah, as much as it surprises me everyday with how wild it is, it can also be a bit frizzy and is hard to tame (I get called lion a lot) so there you go, the mysterious tale of the random Afro...

So are we all braced and ready to see my new favourite hair product? Who am I kidding you've already had a peak at it!
So it's the Umberto Giannini shampoo and conditioner and at times like this I'm glad I'm not a YouTuber because that's a mouth full!

I'm writing this now with, if I do say so myself, revitalized curls, from the big ones to the miniature ones thanks to my use of this product a couple of hours ago! It's called "curl friends" therefore is a god send friend for curly heads like me and I have definitely developed a best friend type relationship with this product. No, that is weird! Maybe if you used it you would know. I begun to think the curly hair was just a short-term experience when my hair started displaying more of an array of frizz rather than curls but HEY PRESTO I'VE FOUND A WINNER!
This is a hair friend which I insist on sharing, ps: it smells damn good too!

(My next blog will be of the clothes show buys)

Luscious Skin

Lush never fail to impress me with each beauty product that graces my forever-growing collection. This time I'm well and truly amazed by the product "Gorgeous" which is a fabulous facial moisturiser which leaves my skin feeling super soft. It's the sort of moisturiser which gives you the motivation to take off that layer of make-up at midnight when usually, you would much rather go to bed. I find it leaves my skin feeling fresh and smooth with an added scent which is not too perfumey! I really recommend this pot of wonder, depending on your craving for it, it should last a long time too!

Style Icon: Alexa Chung

I feel as though this blog is almost urgent and irrelevant to any other blog I've ever posted but I'm excited about the idea! Ever since the delivery man arrived this morning -whilst I was singing a song from Matilda the musical at the top of my voice (cringe)  - and passed me the much anticipated amazon parcel, I have this sudden urge to become Alexa Chung.

Indeed, I had ordered the book 'IT - Alexa Chung' and 10 minutes after opening it I had to pace myself to actually spare a little bit of daily enjoyment and not read it all in one day.

I love Alexa's style. She is that British idol who brings a French elegance along with inspiration from movies and often flaunts the 60's edge. Her wardrobe must be heaven. I wonder if she ever has clear outs because I volunteer. She showcases effortless stripes, neutral shades, oversized coats, loafers (love these) even attempts the tomboy look and looks great in all of these looks.
I'm inspired to dig deep into the darkened layers of my wardrobe and recreate something you can't go to a shop and buy.

Clothes Show Goodies

It's time to show you some Clothes Show goodies! Or should I say goody, since I'm out and can only show you guys one item (which I love)

Here I'm wearing my 'vintage' blouse which I picked up from one of the stalls at the Clothes Show. I must say I fell in love with this top the second I saw it amongst the hustle and bustle of the crowds and went on a quest to actually find my mum so I could purchase it!
Yeah so I went to some effort getting it and it really was worth it! It's an old blouse with patterns of blue and purple which has been altered and customised which makes it even more creative and chic. I have worn it quite a lot since I purchased it I must admit. It was £15 and well worth it!

One thing I particularly like about this top is that the back is cut out and although I'm wearing a plain black vest in this photo, I could perhaps wear a more fitting colour or towards the summer season a bandeaux! I love how I can wear it in different seasons by adding a jacket or jumper over the top too!

Happy blogging

Christmas Treats!

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!
*inserts tinsel and Christmas tree*

So... This Christmas I was a very lucky gal and got some top notch presents and along with them came some fab make-up which I think I should share with you!
A few picks are: 1) Benefit's Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow foundation, 2) Benefit's Browzings and 3) Urban Decay Naked Flushed

I'll start with the foundation from Benefit which is generally highly-rated and I find it amazing like the rest of them! The consistency is just right and I've wanted it for a while now so I'm very happy to finally have it! I have it in shade ivory which works perfectly with my skin!

Next the BrowZings, this little heaven in a palette is perfect for either filling in brows or re-shaping them! It comes with a wax and a powder, an angled brush and a blending brush also a pair of tweezers which is very handy! I have quite dark eyebrows myself so have it in shade 'medium' which is just right!

The Naked Flushed blusher/bronzer palette is one which (I have to admit) I didn't know existed! So when I unwrapped a mysterious small present on Christmas Day to find this I was more than impressed! I've only used it once since its only just been Christmas and I love it! The colours are 3 tones, a highlighting one, a bronzing and a cute blush!

Overall I am very pleased with all 3 products and feel as though I'm treating my skin ha! (Please repay me and don't develop the usual spots skin) fat chance!

So I hope you had a very merry Christmas! Comment what your favourite present was?

The Clothes Show Live 2013

 The Clothes Show Live 2013

So, recently I have been to the fabulous Clothes Show Live and what a show it was, every aspect of the day was fashion-filled and fun from start to finish! Whether it be the extremely value-for-money goodie bags or the topless models here there and everywhere, I think it's safe to say I was in my element at the NEC Centre in Birmingham that day.

Let's jump straight into the audience of the catwalk show which, I am still chatting so highly about, reason being it was absolutely brilliant and I'm glad I caught a few of these fashionable moments on camera. As pictured here, there is a display of men is rather tight shorts and their torso on show ...er fashion show? You can't go wrong with that extra bit of flesh aye! What really captured my keen interest about this show was the fact that it wasn't just the ordinary fashion show in which models would strut down to the end of the catwalk, pose away their stuff, and then strut back down. This catwalk was a whole showcase in itself, in fact they did anything other than 'walk'  down that runway. It went a bit more like; skip, hop, dance, cartwheel and back-flip your way there. I couldn't keep my eyes off the way the actors/dancers/models (extremely talented people) showcased their outfits by performing at such an .energetic way let alone their outfits, whether it be monochrome mixtures or the tartan winter collection, it was truly inspiring. Oh did I not mention Peter Andres appearance? Yeah, he was there too no biggie!

Whilst among the hustle and bustle of the Clothes Show stalls, I managed to collect a few goodie bags which were so much value for money I was baffled! I got so many I think I went a little overboard but an example of one which I love was the 'Rimmel Retro' £5 goodie bag which consisted of a Mascara, Wake Me Up foundation sample, a full size tube of fake tan and a nail varnish! shock! I especially loved their stall too which displayed a real  life Vespa (ace). I also managed to lose myself within the 'Vintage Village' where I bumped into Amy Childs at one point, here I purchased an old vintage blouse which had been re-vamped into a groovy looking tee with a cut out back! I shall upload a picture of this once photographed, since I love love love it!

Yeah so I think I've ranted enough about my wonderful experience at the clothes show now, but all in all I had a great time and for the fashionistas amongst us, it's definitely an escapism to the world of style and inspiration! Roll on next year I say!
